I first discovered the Mango Pineapple Smoothie that McDonald’s sells on one of our road trips from Ontario to the prairies.

We usually pack enough snacks for our trip but stop for meals.

Chris decided at one stop to splurge and buy me a smoothie as I imagine my patience and/or blood sugar was low.

I wasn’t aware at the time that I even liked mango, having never even bought the fruit before.

This drink quickly became a favourite when we would go to McDonald’s.

I managed to recreate it at home using these ingredients.

Ingredients

1 cup Oasis Tropical smoothie

1/2 cup or one small yogurt Yoplait Source pineapple-coconut-banana yogurt

(Activia coconut as a backup)

Frozen mango

Frozen pineapple

NOTES:

*I used to be able to find the Yoplait yogurt in a 650g size. Now I can only find it in the single serve multi-packs with other flavours. The Activia Coconut works ok but not as great as the Yoplait.

**I have tried to add some vanilla protein powder to it to see if it alters the taste and it does.

Directions

Add the smoothie juice to your cup or blender

Spoon in the yogurt

Add the frozen fruit to the top

Blend until it sounds like the fruit has been broken up.

Enjoy!!

I imagine that adding some Malibu Rum or Bailey’s Pina Colada to it would make it a nice summer alcoholic drink.

This smoothie is my go-to treat on a hot summer day; lots of flavour and nice and cold.
