My sister sent me a few gifts in the mail just after Christmas.

Two of the items were these 2 pack wood shapes with some twine, beads and a metal ring for a keychain.
I didn’t look at the packaging too closely just the shape of the wood pieces.

What animal do you see?

For me, the shape is definitely a cat.
You have to understand as well that my sister and her family are cat people.
This had me in ”cat” mode right out of the gate.

It wasn’t until AFTER I burned my first piece that I noticed the picture on the packaging. Someone had put ”Easter” (at least I think that is what it says?) on the wood and the ribbon was blue and silver.
It was supposed to be a bunny I guess?

Which one do you like best?

Here is my favourite with the beads, ribbon and ring added.
It would make a nice ornament I think.

I think I will look for some different beads or maybe paint these plain wooden beads just to add some colour.

I really like the idea of adding some embellishment to the twine, cord or string.
I may have to incorporate that idea in some of my other wood slice ornaments.

Sometimes a gift can lead to inspiration.

  1. I like the bottom right. That said, it can be any animal that brings those attributes to people.
    Animals are good therapy. 👍
