I started my blogging journey two years ago in August of 2020. A big reason for starting the blog was to combat the daily doldrums of being cooped up at home due to Covid restrictions. Now that life is more or less back to normal, I have decided to keep writing and creating to keep myself motivated. Without the twice per week blog commitment, I feel that I could get lazy and not do much of anything.
I have noticed that after two years and 205 blog posts, that there is a pattern to which posts are interesting to the most people.
For those posts that I chose to share on Facebook, those that have a human aspect to them were the most read; my blog about my aunt’s passing on Christmas Eve and my post about Bruno, the homeless man from my childhood.
I usually put photos from my blogs onto Pinterest (search The Craftiest Workshop) with the link to the blog post it came from. The photos that get people checking out my blog are usually holiday related or those that look easy to make or have a ”how to” aspect to them.
My Christmas gnomes, Halloween character wood blocks, popsicle stick Faith, Hope, Love bookmarks and pallet wood Christmas trees have the most impressions and saves.
Over the month of December last year, I had 500,000 people seeing my photos on Pinterest. It is a great way to get the most people seeing your content.
I have even had people checking out my blog after doing a specific search on the internet. My Sweet cucumber Relish and Sticks the card game are two examples of a number of people going to my blog from searches.
After attending a recent online pyrography summit, I was asked if I would share one of the pieces I did in a collaborative book. The book was released through Amazon on Aug. 18 and my name, Instagram handle and piece appear on page 19. Maybe when they release a 3rd edition, I will submit an original design.
I have paid for another year of blogging and already have some ideas for future posts.
Sometimes “life” happens and I will just end up writing about a recent event.
Whatever I decide to write, you will continue to be able to read it on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Thanks to everyone for reading and also for those of you that have made comments along the way; I love the feedback as it helps me to decide what to write about next.
We are blessed that you are so willing to share your gifts. ❤️
You are so talented and love seeing what you have created. Keep up the amazing work.
