I recently had the opportunity to do this survey for UCB Canada radio regarding what types of Christmas music they should play. If you enjoy music and have time to participate in surveys, you should sign up.

It turns out that even though I might know a song really well, I realized I really was “tired of hearing” it. I also noticed another trend as I went through the songs. I enjoyed hearing different songs that either had a unique rhythm or the lyrics really told a story. Many of the songs I really liked were from the same artists over and over. I jotted down some song and artist names as I went through the survey.

After doing the survey, I went on Spotify and searched for the artists and songs. I created my own playlist with some traditional and some “new to me” songs sung by these Christian artists; many that I hadn’t listened to before.

Here are 16 songs that most of you will not have heard before but I think you will enjoy listening to them. If you like any, add them to your Spotify or iTunes playlist. I have listed them alphabetically highlighting in green my five favourites. Grab a tissue! Joseph’s Lullaby and Make Room both make me cry when I listen to them. If you have time to listen to only one today, I suggest Heaven Everywhere. Just click on the blue title and it will take you to a YouTube video; you can usually skip the ads after five seconds.

    1. Thanks, sister! I just created my new Spotify playlist: Corinne’s Christmas Playlist with these songs! I’m looking forward to snowshoeing my way through Advent with my ears tuned in!🙏🏻🎄😊

  1. Beautiful songs. I really enjoyed Joseph’s Lullaby. Here’s another beautiful Christmas song, it’s called “Somewhere In Your Silent Night” by Casting Crowns. I can’t get enough of Christmas music right now although I do tend to love the traditional Christmas hymns, especially “Oh Holy Night.” and “ Hark The Herald Angels Sing”. 🎄

    1. I have “Somewhere in your Silent Night” in my playlist too. Great song. Another one I like even though it is a bit different and in a minor key is Journey to Bethlehem (spontaneous) by Justin Rizzo.

      1. Nice. I also completely adore Dean Martin and every old fashioned Christmas song from that era. Bliss 🥰
