I use my PC optimum App every week checking for point deals before I go grocery shopping. One day when I was on there, I noticed that they were promoting a new PC App called PC Health. I decided to check it out and ended up enrolling in the program. Here is what it looks like in the App Store. I am not getting any kickbacks from PC; I just don’t see a downside to what they are offering.

You have to divulge a bit of personal info such as age, weight, health issues to get suggestions as to which free programs would suit you. It does not mean that you can’t try other programs. I chose to try a three week Self Care Basics program under Mental Health. There is also the option to chat with a nurse but I doubt I will use that feature.

The fun part is when you participate in a program, you receive PC points just for reading about the day’s activity. I learned about deep breathing today and received 35 points. I did the breathing as well but it is not required to get the points. I am not sure if you can still read the activity if you miss a day but I know you won’t get the points for that day.

Here are the Program Categories

  • Kick-Start 2021
  • General Well-being
  • Fitness & Exercise
  • Mental Health
  • Family Health
  • Diet and Nutrition

They do limit you to one program at a time and you can’t speed up the completion by doing more than one in a day. There are one week programs such as the hydration program and by doing it you can earn 250 points. On the other end, the full marathon takes 16 weeks and you can earn 15,000 points. If you read the activity each day and click “complete activity”, you will get the full amount of points.

Had I known I could only do one program at a time, I may have chosen a different program but self care is as good a place as any to start.

If you struggle as I do with making New Years resolutions and sticking to them, why not try one of these programs. You can get notifications to remind you to log in. You are logged out each day to protect your privacy.

Some of the programs that I think would be interesting:

  • How to Work from home with your partner
  • Sugar hacks (reduce sugar and boost energy)
  • Easy Stretches for the Work Day
  • How to stay connected While in Self-isolation

Earning points, having someone else create an activity for me to do and being required to check in are three big motivators for me to actually complete a program. I check in on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest every day so I will just add PC health to my list.

Check out the App and give your health a boost.

  1. I will have to take a look at the App. I am looking for all sorts of ways indoors and outdoors to motivate me to stay healthy during this second lockdown. ☺️
