Crosses are such a symbol of love.
The cross is a bridge to God’s forgiveness, and we have been invited to freely walk across it.
Seeing one gives me a feeling of peace and of being “home”.
Clothes Pin Crosses
When we lived in Russell ON, my kids made these crosses at school as an Easter craft.
I liked them so much that I have kept them in my Easter decorations.
The clothes pin halves were glued onto pieces of construction paper and then the clothes pins for Jesus glued on top of them.
I decided to experiment and make one of my own.
I removed all the metal springs from 15 clothes pins.
I glued each pair back together using hot glue.
If I made another, I think I would take the time and use wood glue and small clamps.
After each pair was glued together I proceeded to piece the cross together gluing as I went.
Lastly, I used my burner to burn all the edges.
Colouring Page Cross
Chris gave me a few adult colouring books this past Christmas. At first glance, I thought to myself, “He must think I am REALLY bored”. Then I started looking through them and I realized that his intention was for me to burn some of the pages onto wood and add paint to them after. This cross is the first colouring page I have tried to burn. I added a few lines here and there so I could get the darker cross in the middle. I used a scrap piece of wood that Chris had brought home one day from helping a friend who chainsaw mills logs for mantels.
You may recall these pallet hangings I made with the cross incorporated into them.
I am sure some of my future crafting or woodburning will also be centered around the cross.
I challenge you to find different ways to incorporate the cross into your own hobbies.
Happy Easter everyone.
That is our hope for life eternally. We celebrate this beautiful Easter morning for Jesus has risen.
