I recently got a second pair of glasses. A pair that doubles as sunglasses and that I can use when driving to see things better at a distance. I already have a progressive pair of glasses which I only really use when wood burning, painting or playing board games. I also would take that pair and use them when we would drive any distance. Now I can keep my progressive pair for only inside use and leave my other new pair in the car.

My other issue with my progressive pair was that I would so rarely wear them that when I needed them, I could never find them. I thought perhaps that if I had a stand for them, regardless of where I kept it, I would remember where my glasses were.

I wanted to use some of our wood scrap to make a stand. I chose oak, the same wood that I had used on my first attempt at wooden spoons, for the ears and nose. I used a piece of the maple hardwood flooring for the snout as it already had a groove in it. The head was just one of my medium sized wood slices. I took a piece of one of my large cookies that had cracked and cut it for the stand at the back. I cut the pieces as needed with the band saw and glued them with Weldbond. The finishing touch was to wood burn on the eyes.

Here is a side view.

And a view from the back.

As you can see the groove of the hardwood flooring is a perfect width for the glasses frames to sit in

Not sure whether it looks more like a dog or a bear but either way it makes me smile.
It even made my husband smile.

And…now I know where to find my glasses.
