Earlier this summer, I turned one of my pallet signs into a sign for the fire pit.
I had used watercolour paint and an outdoor clear finish.
A month and a half later and only a few rainfalls, it now looks like this.
Keeping in mind that the watercolour paint does not hold up well outside, I decided to create some small wood slice decorations to hang around the fire pit. I wanted something to add some humour and spark conversation when we have visitors. These were wood slices with cracks or imperfections. I burned everything in and am curious to see how the burning holds up in the sun and rain.
…and this last one that I have not yet put up.
Here is a view from a ways back. You can make out the wood slices on the wind break wall.
I should note that we, ourselves, rarely drink alcohol but some of the visitors that we will have at our fire pit do.
We have been using the wooden spool to set food and drinks on.
A few stumps for foot rests and we bring out our camping chairs.
Having added these little wooden signs, it personalizes our fire pit and makes it feel like it has our own unique flair.
Busy girl!
