I seemed to have brushes everywhere; in plastic cups, empty coffee mugs and drying beside the sink. I wanted to make something that would keep all my brushes in the same place and make it easier to find a specific brush that I may be looking for.

I headed for the scrap wood box once again and found two small 2X4 blocks that were pretty much the same size. I found a piece of 2X8 that was splintered and cut it to 1 foot.

I fed the three pieces through the drum sander until they were cleaned up.

Brushes are not very heavy so I decided to just glue the pieces together with wood glue.
I chose 4 different hole sizes by putting the brushes through a screw gauge. The drill press made quick work out of getting all the holes drilled into the stand.

I put in some of my brushes just to see how it would work.

I cleared away all the cups and mugs that had been holding my brushes and pencils on my desk.

The stand also fits my brass brush for cleaning my wood burning tips and my old paint brush that I use to brush away sawdust. I can even keep foam brushes in there that can be reused. You can see my small paint cups underneath; these little cups get refilled from larger paint bottles and using them saves me so much paint.

This little stand has cleaned up my workspace considerably and will make my painting experience more efficient.
