Left to right, back row first: Jonathan, Matthew, Thomas, Corinne, Chris

I mentioned before in my Christmas Traditions post that every year I buy or make an ornament for each of my children. For the last 10 years I have made the ornament, and the medium I choose reflects what my hobbies tended to be that year. I have stuck with wood burning (pyrography) the last few years and even I notice that it has improved over time.

Thomas just finished, in December, his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Ottawa. He will start a Public Service job in the New Year working for the Federal Government.

Matthew has been working at the YMM airport doing security for the last year and a half. He wears a Garda uniform doing a six days on six days off shift schedule.

Jonathan has been working for Habitat for Humanity Wood Buffalo for a few years now. He is a construction laborer that assists with the builds.

Following on my brother Russell’s gnome theme, I decided to make a family ornament for my husband’s brother’s family (also Grahams). We have spent a fair amount of time with them hanging out and playing games since we have moved to Grande Prairie .

Each person is holding something that depicts their interests. A book with musical notes, a wiffle ball and pickleball racket, a volleyball and a paint brush. The dog has some bones on his hat as he is all about food.

I enjoy trying to capture a year in an ornament.
It is kind of like a photograph of what someone’s interest or focus was for that year.

Merry Christmas everyone from the Graham Family.
