I remember trying many chocolate chip cookie recipes when my kids were small. My husband prefers a soft cookie over a crunchy one. Years ago I experimented and tweaked the ingredients until I landed on this recipe that leaves the cookies soft even after cooling.
Ingredients
1 cup margarine softened (microwave 40 sec)
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1.5 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups chocolate chips ( 1 small bag)
Directions
Beat the margarine and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla.
In separate bowl sift/stir together flour and baking soda.
Add wet ingredients to dry and combine.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoonful onto parchment lined baking sheets.
Bake at 375° for 12 minutes or just until tops start to brown.
**I have in my notes 350° for 12-14 for baking at a previous house. Every oven and altitude is different.
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
